John says that, in many ways, Yale was his life. He went to Architecture School and never left. He stayed on to teach, at first part time, then full-time, then became Associate Dean, and now is an adjunct professor teaching part-time.

John wants to be remembered as a good, decent human being and for keeping the Yale School of Architecture afloat during difficult financial times. John supervised he renovation of Rudolph Hall (as the Art and Architecture Building is now known), and he is very proud of the overall result. John was unique in being Associate Dean and also a faculty member, the only person to have those two roles at the same time.

John might go back into entrepreneurship—he is the inventor of Boo Boo Strips, after all. He would also like to continue teaching part time a course in product design, a course in systems integration, as well as one in building disasters.
